Two Weeks Old

Two week old photos of Cora. She weighed in at 8 pounds 11 ounces at her two week appointment. She is growing quickly, and strengthening her neck and upper body by lifting her head up more often and looking at the contrast of light and our faces more when we burp her after eating and holding her. The boys seem to be handling the transition very well, and love their baby sister. Of course, we are still very busy taking them to events and play dates for them, so not much has changed overall for them, with the exception that not a lot of laundry is getting folded around here lately.

Our dog, Thomas is the only one who seems to not be handling the transition as smoothly. He barks and growls at our piano teacher, and growls at our harmless and friendly neighbors who have came to visit with us and see baby Cora. I think he's being defensive of us and the baby. Besides her crib, we have a small portable bassinet for us to use for Cora when we need to put her near us, but have free hands. I had placed the empty bassinet on the floor to clear off the table for our boys, and while I was holding and nursing Cora, Gabriel brought it to our attention that Thomas had climbed inside and fell asleep in Cora's bassinet! This is one reason why Cora will NEVER be left alone with Thomas for the next few years.
