End of Preschool Celebration

This Wednesday our boys had their end of the year celebration/awards ceremony at preschool.
Here is Gabriel receiving his end of preschool (PK2) completion award.

The whole preschool sang four songs for the parents.

James receiving his PreKindergarten (PK4) award.

There are three different prekindergarten classes for four year old/5 year olds at their preschool. Each class gave out three different awards for 1. the most improved, 2. the most musical and 3. the top reader award.
I'm a very proud mama to report that James (out of his 16 classmates) received the top reader award for his class. By turning reading logs in over the school year of the books they read James accumulated 1034 books. We read to him all the time. We also have him read to us every day if not twice a day. He reads at a level 1-2 (first grade reading level) now... Which is amazing for a child going into Kindergarten this fall.
Here James is receiving his award.

And yes, James wore the medal around for the rest of the day because he was so proud and he liked it. James says, "My reading medallion is just like Jack and Annie's medallion in the Magic Tree House books!"
Of course we made a HUGE deal about this, because education and reading are incredibly important to us and for him to have (along with good manners).

The preschool even put his picture and name up for the award on the slide show!
