Thankfully a little after a week, of having a massive heart attack and triple bypass surgery, my father-in-law was HOME and recovering well! We are so blessed to still have you James! Thank you God!!!
We were also able to see my Uncle Tobbie. This man is brilliant and hilarious, and exactly the same as I remember him as a child. Tobbie loves kids, and son James grew quickly attached. When we dropped Tobbie off at the airport, and although they did not say it, I think my kids wanted Uncle Tobbie to stay and would have been okay with me flying home right there and then.:)
We also got to see my DAD!!! It was so amazing that he came through Anchorage while we were there! While husband James was at the hospital with his Dad and Mom, my Dad treated the boys and I to see the Mammoth Exhibit, the museum and the Childrens' museum section at the Anchorage Musuem! We had a great time. Thank you Dad!
Later that evening we went to the Brewhouse for dinner in downtown Anchorage.
On our drive out to Wasilla we stopped at St. Innocent Russian Orthodox Cathedral. Beautiful.
At a local park in Wasilla, Gabriel quickly found a train play structure.
The boys were able to visit with their cousins Dalton, Megan and Courtney.
The boys adored climbing, playing and telling their cousin Dalton a copious amount of "knock-knock jokes" that were silly and did not make sense. Thank you Dalton for being so loving and kind to our boys. The first several years that I knew Dalton, he would cry when we left after a visit. Now, it is my boys (and sometimes myself) who cry after we leave from visiting family in Wasilla/Anchorage.
What a lovely bunch of pictures, Erica! I'm sorry for the emergent nature of the trip, but it's amazing you got so see so many family members while you were there! Haven't seen Dalton since your wedding perhaps? He's all grown up!
